We recognize that it can be intimidating coming into a new church for the first time, as there may be a lot of questions and unknowns. To address any questions or concerns you may have before you take the time and effort to visit us, we provided a Frequently Asked Questions list. Hopefully the list will make your visit as easy and welcoming as possible.
How long are services?
Sunday service starts at 10:00am and runs about one hour long.
What should I wear?
We have a “come as you are” approach towards clothing, leaning towards casual wear. You will see some people in jeans and a t-shirt and others in shirt and tie or dresses.
Where do I go?
Our front entrance is located on Scootney Street. There is a parking lot located on the back side of our church.
What will happen during the worship service?
Upon arrival at the sanctuary you will be greeted and given a bulletin containing the order of the worship service and any announcements. Our services have times of singing, greeting your neighbors, a children’s message, prayers, scripture readings and the sermon. The words to the songs will be projected onto an overhead screen at the front of the sanctuary.
Every first Sunday of the month we celebrate Communion. Everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is welcome to participate in communion
What style is your worship?
We have a contemporary service with a praise band and praise music. We also try to incorporate traditional hymns and elements so that all can experience worship in a manner that is familiar to them.
Can I clap my hands?
We encourage people to worship God in how they are comfortable. You welcome sit or stand, raise your hands, clap your hands, or even stand on your heads and worship.
What about children?
We have a children's message during the worship service. Following the message those 5th grade and younger may go out for Sunday School. They are welcome to stay in the worship service if they would prefer to be with their family and friends. Our primary Christian Education occurs during our Crosswalk Wednesdays (Wednesdays at 5:30, September - April).
We have a nursery available for those with infants. We also broadcast the service in our Coffee Hour Room (just outside the Sanctuary) for anyone who needs to step out for a moment and doesn’t want to miss the service.
What happens after Service?
At the conclusion of the service, the pastor gives the blessing and then greets people as they exit the sanctuary. Everyone is invited for a time of fellowship in the Coffee Hour Room where we have refreshments and time to visit.
Where are the bathrooms?
The bathrooms are just outside our Coffee Hour Room in the main hallway. There is also handicap-accessible bathroom just down the hall.
We hope that this will help you feel more at ease when you come and visit. If you have any further questions about who we are, what we do or where to go on Sundays,
please don’t hesitate to ask. We all want to make sure you feel at home.
